An interactive ghost installation that throws a tantrum when ignored, built with Arduino, Python, and a lot of soldering.
Spooky is a group project and physical installation built from scratch: a ghost character made with custom hardware, Arduino, Python, distance sensors, and moving components, all soldered and wired by hand.
The behaviour is simple but effective. When someone stands in front of Spooky, it goes quiet. The moment no one is there, it throws a tantrum: making noise and flailing its arms around. But if it keeps being ignored, the tantrum slowly dies down, as if Spooky has accepted defeat and given up.
