A group poster research project exploring how human qualities can be projected onto non-human subjects, using betta fish as the lens.
A group project exploring the concept of humanisation: how and why people apply human qualities, emotions, and narratives to things that are not human. Some groups in the course chose AI, others chose different animals. We chose the betta fish.
Betta fish are known for their aggression toward each other, their vivid colours, and their use in organised fighting. The project examined how that story gets told, and what happens when you apply a human lens to it: rivalry, identity, pride, fate. The output was a set of research posters combining visual design with written research.
