Remember Me

A Rotterdam exhibition dwelling on false memories, using creative use of software and hardware. This project was created for the Science to Experience course of the Creative Intelligence and Technology programme at Leiden Univeristy.

Remember Me! is a game designed and created with false memories and identity formation in mind. The main concept revolves around the user helping the character on screen to find their memories, through photos of their memories. Every round, the player is presented four different memories, with one of them being the ‘’true’’ one. Each memory chosen corresponds to a part of the character’s identity, indicated as clothes in our game. The user is in charge of the outcome, and their scores are recorded while choosing the memories. When each of the memories have been chosen and the character’s identity has been restored, the user will be handed the choice of either recording their score as true or false memories! This will pressure the user to think about what is a true or false memory, and if it is ‘wrong’ or not to have them. There is no right answer, this could be considered as an elaborate thought experiment about memories and self-identity.
